Colloidal Gold for Lateral Flow

At Fortis Life Sciences, we offer a range of point-of-care diagnostic tests, commonly referred to as lateral flow tests, incorporating colloidal gold for sensitivity and specificity.

As a world-leading manufacturer1,2 of nanoparticles, we know how difficult it is to develop and commercialize lateral flow assay tests. Therefore, we offer our clients an end-to-end solution for sensitive lateral flow tests using colloidal gold at the highest quality and at the lowest cost.

When using our colloidal gold for rapid diagnostic tests, our team will support your team from the feasibility and initial development stages, right through to the final commercialization stage.

Using Lateral Flow

Lateral flow immunoassays, or immunochromatography strips, are simple devices that are used to detect the presence or absence of a target analyte.

Target analytes, including pathogens and biomarkers, can be detected in a range of different sample types from human, animal, and other biological samples, to food or water. Two commonly known uses of lateral flow tests are to detect the presence of the SARS-CoV-2 protein or pregnancy hormones, but they can be used across a wide range of applications and sample matrices.

Benefits of Lateral Flow With Colloidal Gold

With the influx of lateral flow tests on the market, many products struggle with sensitivity and detection limits.

Using our colloid gold, you can increase the sensitivity, specificity and detection limit of your target analyte.

Scaled Production

  • As one of the world’s largest gold nanoparticle manufacturers, we can leverage our scaled production to produce the highest quality and lowest priced gold colloid for rapid diagnostic tests
  • No commercial use license is required for our gold colloid products – simply purchase and use

Highest Quality

  • An extensive characterization sheet is provided with all of our particles to ensure that each lot meets specification
  • Unlike other vendors, we measure the mass concentration of the gold (not just the optical density), allowing you to accurately calculate the binding surface area which is important for optimizing antibody loading
  • Large lots combined with multi-year stability allows our customers to minimize manufacturing risk

Outstanding Support

  • Dedicated technical support personnel to answer your questions
  • Ability to bring assay development in-house
  • Proven record with customers
