Surface Enhanched Fluorescent Spheres

Silver nanoparticles were coated with a silica shell containing fluorescent organic dye molecules. Tuning the plasmon resonance of the core to overlap with the absorbance and emission of the dye molecule results in metal surface enhance fluorescence (SEF), enhancing the brightness of the particles by 10-30 times compared with an equivalent number of dye molecules in solution. Silver Nanowires

nanoComposix's silver nanowires have thicknesses of <100 nm and lengths as long as 40 microns. With aspect ratios (length:width) of up to 500, our silver nanowires have unique electronic and thermal conductive properties, and are commonly used as components in coatings and composites. 150 nm Silica Coated Silver Nanospheres

150 nm BioPure silver nanospheres were fabricated, processed, and coated with thin silica shells. Extensive TEM characterization demonstrated that these custom silver nanospheres had CVs of < 8%. While our standard high quality silver nanospheres are available in sizes ranging from 10-100 nm, we routinely fabricate nanospheres with diameters between 4-10 nm and 100-200 nm on a custom basis.

Silver Nanospheres with Thin Silica Shells

5 g batches of 30 nm, 40 nm, and 50 nm BioPure silver nanospheres were coated with 8 nm thick silica shells. Silver nanospheres with diameters between 30 - 200 nm can be shelled with silica shells as thin as 8 nm and as thick as 100 nm.

Gold Nanoparticles Provided in Toluene

500 mg of gold nanoparticles were fabricated, capped with oleyl amine, and transferred into toluene. These nanoparticles exhibit long term stability in both chloroform and toluene, and are ideal for applications which require organic solvents.

Lipoic Acid Capped Gold Nanospheres

Various sizes of gold nanoparticles were fabricated, coated with lipoic acid and were extensively characterized. CPS (Centrifugal Particle Sizer) analysis showed that the hydrodynamic size of the particles was within 1 nm of the TEM determined size (typically other capping agents generate an increased DLS/CPS size compared with TEM measurements). The strong dithiol binding between the lipoic acid and the gold surface stabilizes the particles while leaving the acid group available for subsequent conjugation.

200 nm Gold Nanospheres

Positively Charged Gold Nanospheres

Gold nanoparticles coated with branched poly(ethylene imine) (BPEI) were fabricated at the 500 mg scale. The nanoparticles were characterized and found to have a zeta potential of +31 mV.
