Please note: This policy only refers to material ordered in error. If you have received materials and suspect damage, defects, incorrect or missing items, or if you have any concerns about the material, please see our Product Guarantee.
Materials purchased from nanoComposix that have been ordered in error and are not listed under Exceptions can be returned within 7 business days of receipt of material. Item(s) must be un-opened, in original packaging, and stored according to the proper storage and handling guidelines for the specific material.
All returned item(s) are subject to a 20% re-stocking fee. The value of returned item(s) minus the re-stocking fee can be applied to an exchange or as a credit to the customer’s account.
The customer is responsible for paying for the shipping costs associated with returning an item ordered in error. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund based on proper handling of the material. If you are approved, then your refund will be processed, and a credit will be applied to your credit card or customer account within 5 business days.
Any material which is required to be stored between 2–8°C is not eligible for return. This includes, but is not limited to, the following:
- Custom material
- Silver products, including nanospheres, nanoplates and nanocubes
- Gold with BPEI surface
- Gold nanorods
